Nova is HubQuery’s founder Command Center. On the web it lives at nova.hubquery.com and Platform → Brain. On Android, founders can sideload a dedicated Nova APK (com.hubquery.nova) for on-the-go chat, voice, Conversation Mode, ops, artifacts, and ambient context — not the consumer HubQuery app.
Who it's for
HubQuery SUPER_ADMIN founders only. Other roles see a founder-only gate and should use the HubQuery mobile app instead.
Before you start
- Use a SUPER_ADMIN founder account (the same one you use for Platform / nova.hubquery.com).
- Keep your private founder access code (Clerk free plans do not include Passkeys; upgrade +
NEXT_PUBLIC_NOVA_PASSKEYS_ENABLED=1if you add them later). - Install the release APK from your internal distribution channel; uninstall any older Nova build first if install is blocked.
- On the device, allow installs from your file manager and review Play Protect prompts for sideloaded apps.
- Confirm TTS on the server: Settings default to ElevenLabs when
ELEVENLABS_API_KEYis set on the HubQuery web service (DigitalOcean Run), then OpenAI. Local Mac voice only if you explicitly choose Local andNOVA_VOICE_BASE_URLis set. Keys stay on the server — never in the APK.
Sign-in (web + APK)
Nova does not use email/password. Unlock with your private founder access code (hashed server-side; rate-limited). Passkeys are optional after a Clerk plan upgrade. If you already have HubBusiness, Careers, or a member session open in another tab, Nova keeps the access-code form so you can switch — it does not treat that other session as Super Admin.
Steps
- Install and open Nova. Sign in with your founder access code (Nova branding — not HubQuery consumer signup).
- Complete the permission wizard: microphone, notifications, location, optional contacts/calendar, and on Android notification access, accessibility (screen context), Assist, and home widget.
- Use the Command Center for text chat, ops KPIs, artifacts, pending Authorize actions, or tap the Conversation Mode control beside Send for continuous listen → reply.
- Pin the Nova home-screen widget or use Android Assist /
nova://conversationto jump straight into Conversation Mode. - Tune voice (including local), daemons, Telegram, guardrails, and MCP tool health under Nova settings (synced with Platform Brain prefs) and at Platform → Brain → Settings on the web.
What you should see
- Cold start opens Nova Command Center (no HubQuery property tabs); New chat does not silently resume an old thread.
- Spoken replies when TTS is configured; Conversation Mode until you exit.
- Optional ambient context (notifications, screen text, contacts names, calendar titles, location) after you opt in via system settings.
If something goes wrong
- Install blocked – Uninstall the previous
com.hubquery.novapackage, enable unknown apps for your Files app, or install viaadb install. - Blank white 403 – Hard-refresh
nova.hubquery.com. First load used to race a Next.js forbidden page; sign-in or the founder gate should show instead. - Founder access only / Access denied – Close other HubQuery tabs or enter the founder access code to switch. Your HubBusiness or Careers login is not Nova.
- Passkey unavailable – Use your founder access code, or add a passkey from the Nova account menu after a successful unlock.
- No voice / Preview does nothing – Confirm
ELEVENLABS_API_KEYandNOVA_TTS_PROVIDER=elevenlabson the HubQuery DigitalOcean service, then Preview voice in Nova Settings. A toast should say which provider spoke. Allow sound if the browser blocks autoplay. - Ambient empty – Enable Nova’s notification listener and accessibility service in Android Settings; re-run the wizard if needed.
